Why Eat Better?

The typical American is not a healthy eater. Adults are not aware of what comprises a healthy diet. We are tempted from every direction with an abundance of fast food and convenience foods. Much of what is available to us on supermarket shelves has too much sugar, too much salt, too much fat, too many chemicals . . .

At Aviisha, we want people to eat well!
The food you eat supplies much more than just fuel for your body to function. It provides the raw materials from which your skin, hair, muscle, bone and all other tissues are made. The food you eat is what allows your body to manufacture hormones and enzymes that control the function of each cell in your body.
 
You really are what you eat! You need to start taking responsibility for the only body you have.
We meet patients every day who are just not aware of the direct consequences of what they ingest on how they feel today and how they will feel in the future. Take sugar. When your diet consists of a lot of what is called, high glycemic index foods, like candy, cookies, sugared soft drinks, sugared cereal and white bread, your body responds by producing more insulin. High insulin levels cause your body to store the extra energy as fat. Further, your appetite increases and you tend to eat more carbohydrates and voila, there you have a major reason for much of the weight gain people experience.
 
33% of Americans are insulin resistant. This causes weight gain and low energy levels.
Each patient that is treated in one of the Aviisha Centers is treated as an individual with unique needs. We understand that for most people, the decision to take responsibility and start eating better is significant and can be scary. That’s why we work with you individually, combining education, support and diet and exercise plans that suit YOU.
Aviisha also provides you with full meal replacement that includes medical weight loss meals, snacks, shakes and bars. Our experience shows that after the first week, most patients already demonstrate greater control over their appetite, less cravings and visible weight loss.
